Brow's, Brow's, Brow's...
“How do you like your brows?”.
The first thing I ask any client that’s sat down in my chair.
“Brows are a very personal thing…”. That’s the second thing I say, because it’s true!
Most women know exactly how they like their eyebrows to look, they are very particular, they are not afraid to tell me and I GET THAT.
I am exactly the same… I know precisely how I like them to look. I have perfected my own unique brow style over the years.
As an adolescent of the 90’s the only way I knew to style my brow’s was to pluck them into a line and draw a very eloquent (not) line over the top with a dark brown Rimmel pencil (which subsequently I used as a lip liner paired with my bronze shimmer lipstick. Yummy). Unfortuantly I paid the price as mine never grew back, and with me being a natural redhead they’re painfully light. So in my eyes, I really got the short straw.
First. world. Problems. Check out this blog for a picture of me and my au natural brows!
I do try and grow mine, I havnt’t plucked them for about two years! But there’s no visible signs of life as yet. I keep meaning to try castor oil to stimulate growth, or buy some other brow product that will give me the natural fluffy brows I desire to have. I always “joke” (it’s not a joke however, Im being deadly serious), that without my eyebrows “on” I look like a twelve year old. See for yourself in the photo I’ve included. You’re allowed to laugh btw.
However while I’m on my lifetime quest, I must find a temporary solution, and I’ve got to say that the one small benefit from having zero brows is that actually, I can create whatever type of brow I fancy.
I can create a fluffy brow, a defined brow. I can change the shape, change the colour….
Of course, this comes with practise, and I preach this to every person that comes to me with their brow woes.
Practice, practice, practice! Oh, and the right tools and products!
As a makeup artist I have to be prepared for every client that sit’s in front of me, so I have a range of eyebrow products to suit everyone!
I have a self made brow palette made from four popular MAC eyeshadows (Omega, Cork, Espresso and Brun), a range of pencils, different coloured pomades and different sized angled brushes.
