NARS St.Germain Des Pres Eyeshadow Palette
I saw this new collection from NARS, and instantly knew it had to be mine! It’s rare these days that I am completely sold on an eyeshadow palette, as I have so many. I have to really really love it to buy it!
It’s the matte colours that really sold it for me. I’m a sucker for reddy browns, but also for a perfect champagne gold. This is one that I will be carrying around in my pro makeup kit, and nip in and out of for those nights out when the world goes back to the new normal!
The lighter colours stood out to me also. I bloody love a stunning gold as it’s one of my most required makeup looks from clients.
I absolutely loved creating the matte eye look. I really felt glam, and the general application was a doddle because of the colour pay off being so flipping good.
Using the red/brown colour first and applied with a MYKITCO My Soft Blending Brush, I swept the colour on my lower lid. Building up the intensity to my desired effect by not over blending, instead more of a patting motion at first to transfer the colour straight onto the eye, and then really gently just buffing around the edges to soften them.
I purposely didn’t want to take the eyeshadow much higher that my socket, so I decanted any left over product on my brush onto a clean towel by gently wiping it.
To create a two dimensional eye look, one brush really isn’t going to help you achieve what you want. So along with your blending brush, having one that has denser bristles that is going to pick the product up from the palette and place it onto the eye with an impact, you need one similar to the one I used, the My detailing Crease Brush.
This is what I did with the other two darker colours that are included in the palette. Remember to always prep your eye with a primer beforehand to get the best colour pay off and eyeshadow longevity.
You can see how I have used them along with the brush in my Instagram reel here.
This is such a versatile palette which can be used for any occasion makeup, but I will also use for any of my bridal work also.
The full RRP is £36, but £28.60 when used alongside my 20% discount purchased from LOOKFANTASTIC using my code LFTFALECARCHER at the checkout.
