AUTUMN MAKEUP FT MY FAVE CHARLOTTE TILBURY PRODUCTS
With the darker nights imminent and the defiant change in temperature, its time to say goodbye to your summer makeup bag and welcome the autumn edition…
What does this mean?
It means we say goodbye to the fake tan, bronzer and coral lips and invite a change in our skincare routine, add a subtle/natural contour and buff in some berry lips.
For me, the first thing I notice when the temperature drops is the change in my skin. It defiantly becomes drier which is hard to believe as its sucked of moisture most of the year, but the texture becomes a little more flaky which is delightful.
So its not rocket science when I say the first thing to do is to make sure you’re using the right moisturiser.
Personally, I prefer a lighter/water based moisturiser as although my skin is drier than a sand sandwich, it doesn’t take well to rich skin products and will literally repel it out of my pores and make my skin spotty in the process.
So if you are like me, my absolute dream moisturising face lotion is Loreal “Hydra Genius” and its an absolute steal to costing around £9.99 off the high street. It’s lighter than air, my skin soaks it in like a glass of water and it smells like a dream.
If you’re feeling flush and prefer a richer cream, Keihls “Ultra Facial Cream” is definitely one that you could turn to over and over again. FYI It comes in an oil free version also if you’re avoiding adding to your natural shine.
Let’s move onto makeup…
If you have followed my instagram, you will of seen a video I posted using some of my fave Charlotte Tilbury products, and these are going to go perfect in your autumn (makeup) wardrobe.
Here’s a list of the products I used;
Hollywood Contour wand - it has an easy application and natural contouring tone
Beauty Light Wand - a subtle and flattering highlighter that works perfect on any skin texture.
Legendary Brows - a quick and easy way to create a textured brow
Barberella Eye Kohl - soft, bendable and a more flattering colour compared to black.
“K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick” in shade Night Crimson
Did you notice in the video that I blended my lipstick using a small eyeshadow bending brush? This is a great way to apply a bold coloured lipstick when you’re not wanting a heavy application or perhaps you’re not there yet when it comes to lipstick confidence but want to dip your toe in the bolder coloured lipstick category as it can create a much softer effect.
All these products listed are for the “non makeup” people out there, and that’s the beauty about Charlotte tilbury. She makes products for the “everyday” woman, not for makeup artists with experience.
She wants you to be able to enjoy your makeup experience when buying your beauty essentials, then when you get home be able to use them straight away and not leave them collecting dust in a drawer because you forgot what the retail artist said on how to apply them.
