As a Nottingham makeup artist, it’s always great to be asked to be asked to do wedding shoots further afield.

I am also know as a Leicestershire makeup artist, a makeup artist in Derby and an East Midlands makeup artist, so the venue for this alternative photoshoot was Abbots Oak based in Coalville, Leicestershire was an easy location to get to and when I arrived, this quirky wedding venue really fitted the halloween brief.

The concept was created and shot by alternative photographer Artisan X Photography, also know as Chris Denner and he was joined by not only myself, but a whole team of unconventional wedding suppliers.

The halloween theme really gave me the chance to express myself as an Alternative Makeup Artist. Creating Unconventional Wedding Makeup is what gets me excited and as much as I love being a traditional makeup artist, when talking to potential brides about their ideas I love it when they have ideas slightly out of the box.

Autumnal tones were used through out the styling ie golds, reds and oranges to symbolise the time of year and smoke bombs were used to create a diverse dramatic effect. But in true Halloween spirit there was an under tone of dark and mystery.

As a makeup artist who loves using colour, I had already planned on using green in my look on the model. So I was even more stoked to see she had green hair when I arrived.
